YSD Structure

The YSD operates on the SDP's Constitution and Rulebook. 

• Section L of the Rules and Procedures was introduced upon the founding of the YSD.
• The YSD includes any SDP members over the age of 16 but under the age of 30 years.
• At a minimum, the YSD functions with an elected Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer. 
• Other posts are appointed by the elected committed where necessary.
• The Chair of the YSD sits on the SDP's National Coordinating Committee.

The YSD Executive is made up of the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Further roles and Officers have been created such as the Deputy, Media Officer and Student Officer. For more information please see the People page.

The foundation of our Wing is our members, aged 16-30, organised nationally under the party's 11 regions. Each of our YSD regions elects a Regional Representative, a 'Youth Rep', to plan and host local events, socials and campaigns. 

The YSD operates across 11 regions of the UK, under the SDP:

• East of England
• East Midlands
• London
• North East
• North West 
• South East
• South West
• Wales
• West Midlands
• Yorkshire and the Humber
• Scotland

As the Party's student wing, we also encourage and support our members in the creation of SDP/YSD University Societies. Willing and interested students should contact their regional representative and the Student Officer.
