What is accreditation?
Accreditation is our method of formally affiliating Young Social Democrat branches and SDP societies with our youth wing. The aim is to build a clear relationship of accountability and support, so we know where our members are and you, as branch leaders, know we can help you effectively.
University Society 'branches' are affiliated with Universities and open exclusively to students, whereas Local Branches are associated with SDP Regions or local groups and open to all Young Social Democrats (under 30s). Successful branches are as local as possible, therefore if you happen to be in a City with several YSD members, consider organising a local branch. For example, "Young Social Democrats Bristol Branch." Don't be tempted to organise over too wide an area, that's what our Regional Parties are for!
What support do branches receive?
Accredited branches receive dedicated support and access to YSD materials, including:
While some of these materials aren't published just yet, we'll be sure to share them with you when they're ready.
